Thanks to a crafty movie night last night, I've already listed the new books of good things on Etsy. If you're not feeling confident about your luck (or feel giveaways are the lamest thing on Earth and want nothing to do with fun), you can go and buy yourself one (or ten) of these right now! If you wan't the chance to win one of these instead, do head over to my previous blog post!
What better way to spend a Saturday night than in the splendid company of a stack of papers to be folded! Tonight I'm refreshing the old favourite, my book of good things. This is the third (and all new) English version since I began making these English ones in 2007; the first Finnish books of good things were made over ten years ago (can't quite believe it myself), in a slighly different book format, though. Like all things, these books need a little updating every now and then, even if it's just to keep me from getting bored with making them. I knew it was high time to raise the prise or streamline the process, and I opted for the latter to keep everyone happy. I hope to share a finished book of good things in a day or two!
I just realized this is my 500th blog post over here, and I'm all for celebrating round numbers. So, I'm giving away one of these new (and still a bit mysterious) books of good things! Leave a comment below and you've got a chance to win one. I'll pick a winner at random on Thursday evening (Oct 30th, around 9pm GMT-2) and announce the winner here. Please make sure to leave your e-mail address in the comment form (or the actual comment), so I can contact you if luck favours you!
PS. There are still a few books of good things with the old design and content available in my shop! Once they're gone, there won't be more!
EDIT: The random number generator generated the random number 2 (sorry, I've yet to master screenshots with my iPad!), which means the book of good things goes to the lovely Deanna of EmeraldCut!
Thank you for all your lovely comments, for your visits, for the kind blog mentions, for you being there reading my words. The blog giveaway matchboxes will be soon in the making, the random number generator did the being random part of the draw as I'm home alone. Sima's two comments I counted as one to be fair to everyone, so number three means David will be getting some mail sometime soon (honestly, I was moved to tears by his comment, that's how girly-girl I am).
I feel like I could read some poetry I haven't read before. I'm stuck with my Finnish poetry and could do with a change. Who's your favourite writer, poet/novelist/author of whatever?
A massive shop update all of a sudden. New books, some books you've caught glimpses of, loads of botanical brooches. And now, also, letters to you. My matchbox project has a will of its own and it's also easily persuaded. I'm just having too much fun making my little quirky art things! So, now they really are made as art, not as a creative wastebin thing for my scraps :)
I'm in a terribly good mood this week, so I think it's a good idea to spread the joy a bit. (Free stuff, yay!) I'm just about to reach 300 sales in my shop, so whoever purchases the 300th item will also receive a matchbox letter, specially made just for that person.
And just because I kind of like the people who read my blog, really, really much, I think I could make a little something for you too. Leave a comment (with some contact info, please) and you have a chance of winning two matchbox letters, one mysteriously (or not) in Finnish and another one in English, telling the story of the abandoned house and the magician and the possibly imaginary funambulist. One way to improve your chances of winning is to tell me what kind of things you imagine I've been writing to people or what you would like me to write. I'll draw a fairly random name from a group of nice comments next Sunday (July 19th) and announce the winner right here in my blog. And if the winner happens to be Finnish, I'll just write the story in Finnish too, just because, you know.
Yep, I'm checking how closely you're reading my blog ;) No huge giveaway signs around here and you need to say more than hi. Sorry if you came here just to say hi. I like you anyway.
