We had the most enjoyable class reunion in Tampere last weekend. Hardly anyone had changed a lot, some had had children, some had found great people to share their lives with. It was lovely to meet friends for the first time after graduating and still feel like no time at all had passed. I'm pathetic when it comes to keeping in touch, but I hope I'll meet these people again, in less than five years time.
On our way back we stopped at Alpo Jaakola Statuary Park in Loimaa. Alpo Jaakola(1929-1997) was a bit of a bizarre Finnish artist. I don't know too much about him or his work, and I couldn't find any English websites that I could enlighten you with. These few photos are all I've got for you today.
The park was closed, but we just walked around the fence. What a rebel I was! I managed to get some photos before the battery of my camera went dead, but most of them were unfocused because it was so cold that my hands shook.
This is my favorite, after this the battery went dead. There are more pictures of the buildings than of the statues. The buildings were interesting too, but I wish I would have saved the battery for more interesting things.
A couple more photos on flickr. I've also been sewing and making progress with designing. It won't be long before I've got something new to blog about.
