mixed media monday - a memory orchard

A memory orchard - we've all got those, right? More and less concrete. At least that's how I feel after contemplating the matter. The memory orchard text has been cooking in my idea folder for long enough, and now it's finally out in the world. I have a feeling 2017 will be the year when I make mixed media pieces out of those precious little bits I've been scared of using, for one reason or another. So far things are looking good.

Always hiding little details in my work: see Pearl above.

The squiggly pins at the spine edge of the book cover remind me of asemic writing (not that I've ever immersed myself into the scene). The pins are in fact extremely old, and found from the foreshore of the river Thames (gifted to me by dear C on our mudlark last October): bent and twisted, probably by both people long, long gone, and the tides and pebbles of the river.

And tempted by the tides, the city, the Giacometti exhibition, and by a great plane ticket deal, two Finnish poets are now anxiously waiting for their return to London come summer. Wasn't planning on it, yet, but hey, it happened. Again.
